Izzy Mohan is a British/Spanish pianist, conductor, and mezzo-soprano based in London. She is the Organist and Director of Music at St Mary’s, Harrow-on-the-Hill and co-founder and director of the professional choir Alma Consort. Izzy is also Artistic Director of the Harrow Music Festival, with the inaugural festival set to take place in summer 2027.
Izzy works widely as a collaborative pianist, with recent appearances at the Royal Festival Hall, the Austrian Cultural Forum, and Oxford International Song Festival. She has also appeared as a soloist and chamber pianist with the Southbank Sinfonia and at the Somerville Festival of Piano. She studied Ensemble Piano at the Royal Academy of Music with James Baillieu and Joseph Middleton, generously supported by the Ruth Harte Scholarship, taking singing as a second study with Alex Ashworth, and won several prizes for vocal accompaniment during her time there.
Iberian art song is of particular interest to Izzy, due to her Spanish/Catalan heritage. Izzy organised a series of concerts and events at the Academy to showcase this repertoire, and her work coaching singers in Spanish-language song formed the basis of her research for the Academy’s MMus.
Alma Consort performs regular choral concerts alongside commercial studio recordings, weddings, funerals, and corporate events. The ensemble also works with the Choir of St Mary’s Harrow on the Hill, giving the junior choristers a chance to sing alongside professional singers.
Izzy’s musical career began as a chorister at Chester Cathedral. She went on to Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester before reading Music at the University of Oxford, where she held choral scholarships with Merton College Choir, Keble College Choir, and the Magdalen College Consort of Voices. Izzy sings with regularly in choirs in London, including the St Martin’s Voices.
